This was a project I began sometime in early-mid 2002 and completed July 3, 2003. The idea was to recreate the Major Arcana with characters from my one of my favorite rpgs, Valkyrie Profile. I don't practice Tarot reading myself, but I've always been fascinated by the concept of the cards and their meanings. It was a great exercise in creativity and getting to know the Tarot better by analyzing and trying to find a "best fit" for each of the characters and their stories. It was also an exercise in discipline to finish them all ;_; and it also forced me to push my drawing skills (of that time) to the limit.
These were done on 4x6 cards with pen (Copic Multi Liner 0.05, because I have the WORST inking skills), Prismacolor pencil crayons and whiteout.
On each card I have also included a quote, from (one of) the character(s) featured, which I feel most exemplifies his/her outlook and the connection between the story and the nature of the card. SPOILERS ABOUND!
